THE OTHER SIDE

THE OTHER SIDE opens a door for the viewer onto a parallel reality — one in which archetypes dissolve to make way for each artist’s freedom. The exhibition moves through duality, through the reverse side, through the mirror, through the threshold between what is shown and what is sensed behind it, giving voice to the intimate idea each artist holds about reality and offering, from there, an alternative to the known.

Through painting and sculpture, Arol, Ciou, Gema Alvaro, Im Cheul Kyun, Jesús Aguado, Lori Earley, María Cobas, Miss Van, Mono Cieza, Naomi Knaff, Olga Esther, Perrilla, Philip Bosmans, Raúl Guerra and Troy Brooks build, from very different languages and sensibilities, universes that blur the boundaries where the human and the fantastical, the conscious and the dreamlike, the intimate and the symbolic coexist — offering a vision that asserts ways of existing outside the uniformity of society.

The leitmotif running through the show is, without doubt, the meticulousness of the technique each artist applies with exquisite care: refined finishes and details that invite the senses to be carried away by a message built with remarkable dedication — the unique reality of each imaginary world placed within the viewer’s reach, for their delight.

THE OTHER SIDE thus invites us to look straight at what usually remains on the other side: an experience in which each work functions as a door toward other possible ways of inhabiting reality.
