Arol (b. 1974, Mar del Plata, Argentina) trained as a graphic designer, graduating in 1996, and moved to Spain in 2003, where he worked as an art director and freelance illustrator before embracing digital surrealism in 2010. In 2017 he turned to traditional painting, mainly oil on wood, and since 2018 he has also customised art toys and made sculpture. Theatrical in its play of light and shadow, his work places tender yet unsettling characters in isolated environments, in a dialogue between creation and destruction. It has been exhibited worldwide and is held in private collections across the five continents.
