Jazzy Dope
I, who am nobody, suffer from wanting so much, from needing everything. I blame capitalism, but it’s not systemic — it’s my fucking selfishness, my urge to water, destroy and inhale the light from everything. Always unsatisfied. Thirsting for the blood of all that bleeds.

Jazzy Dope — Julián Díez — is a Madrid-based figurative painter, writer and muralist whose work starts from a simple and radical premise: painting as an excuse to tell stories. His own. The ones that weigh on him, attract him and burn him.
Rooted in graffiti — from which he inherited his artistic name — and nourished by comics, advertising and popular culture, Jazzy Dope builds a strongly autobiographical body of work where text and image are inseparable. Each painting is a frozen instant, a fragment of life inhabited by characters made of his blood, his bones and his ideas. His technique is deliberately raw and layered: oil, spray, solvent, pencil and biro, frequently all at once.
For the collector, Jazzy Dope represents something the art market values increasingly: a completely original voice with a narrative so powerful that his works are impossible to forget. His exhibition pace — solo shows, international fairs, residencies across Europe and the Americas — and his 2026 SUMMA Prize at JUSTMAD26 trace an ascending trajectory that can still be joined from the beginning.
