Lisa Gingles works across drawing, collage and sculpture, giving form to animal and hybrid figures drawn from mythology, folklore, travel and memory, constructing a territory where the human and the fantastical coexist.

Morrigan takes its title from the Irish war goddess of the same name, one of the three Morrígna alongside her sisters Badb and Macha. In Irish mythology, the three could take the form of crows, appearing before battle as an omen of bloodshed to come.

To collect Morrigan is to bring home a drawing rooted in one of Irish mythology’s most enduring figures, rendered with the same quiet, patient pencil work found across Gingles’ works on paper.
