BREAKING WALLS: The Bridge Between Figurative and Urban Art

At Blacklight Art Gallery, we have always believed that art is not a land of boundaries, but a space for dialogue. With BREAKING WALLS, our upcoming exhibition dedicated to urban art, we take this vision one step further: breaking down the walls that have traditionally separated figurative art from street art. For us, figurative art and urban art are not opposing worlds, but two languages that—when they meet—generate a powerful, contemporary, and deeply human narrative.

A Bridge That Is Also Balance

In this edition of BREAKING WALLS, we have also paid special attention to something we consider essential: achieving balance and equivalence between women and men urban artists.
Urban art—historically dominated by male voices—is undergoing a transformation. More and more women are taking up essential space in the scene, bringing new perspectives, discourses, and techniques. At Blacklight, we celebrate this evolution and actively support it, ensuring that this exhibition naturally and fairly represents the true diversity of contemporary urban art.

In BREAKING WALLS, both universes intertwine.
