DEIH

DEIH, Valencia 1978.
I draw castaways.
Pilots lost in hostile environments trying to escape from a planet that is their own mind.
I draw in order to understand the things that happen to me, for fun, and to better comprehend the
world. I draw and paint to connect with other people. I feel quite at ease with science fiction.
Sometimes I think each one of my works functions as a frame from a much longer film. I like to
think that whoever faces one of these works inevitably will contribute all the information that is not
shown in the piece, completing it with his own experiences, his dreams, his traumas, creating their
own piece from mine.
I started painting graffiti in 1993/4 and afterwards studied Art (Universidad Politécnica de
Valencia).
For some years now I have been working on a series that has grown , developing, unfolding in a
very organic way, finelly becoming the core of my creative work.
Since I started the Insider Serie I have been fortunate to travel the world over painting murals in
Urban Art festivals (Turkey, Iceland, Bielorussia, Mexico, Cabo Verde, USA, Belgium, Norway…)
and participate in many exhibitions, both collective and individual in several countries, in galleries
and museums (my latest solo show has been in Goldman Global Arts Gallery in Wynwood Walls,
Miami 2023).
I am obsessed with the nature of time, with the vision of the other, the shadow, the loss and the
desire, the limits of reality and approaching the Cosmos from a human scale.
I am very interested in certain emotions such as loneliness, uprooting, and the possibility of creating
a better future… Truthfully, I could spend hours writing about what my work means but I rather
would have my work speak for itself.
Definitely, I think painting is a way of thinking. Through painting we can conquer other places
which are not accessible through words.
That makes me feel good.
